The Resolution Says...

Analysis
At this point, we'd just like to get you to imagine.
First, we want to ask you to imagine a mission field. Why a mission field?
According to Child Evangelism Fellowship, 85% of Christians accept Christ before age 14. To us, that figure means we need to take the admonition to train up our children in the way that they should go, very seriously, otherwise parents should expect their children to depart from the faith.
Hundreds of thousands of Baptist parents are sending millions of children to the public schools. Imagine if just 1/3rd of those parents made a commitment to a private Christian school or Homeschool. How would the country look different?
Just imagine...
We believe it is important for the Southern Baptists to take the lead on this issue. We are the largest protestant denomination in the United States. If we take the lead, surely other evangelical denominations will follow.
Let's be blunt. This could ultimately mean the Separation of School and State. Leftists, humanists, and nihilists (those that believe there's no ultimate meaning, i.e., the folks at MTV) would have to use their own money to indoctrinate kids.
Guess what? These groups don't have it. They've been using the money they've stolen from Christian taxpayers to compel them to pay for that which they find morally abhorrentincluding condom distribution, promotion of "alternative lifestyles," political correctness, socialist theory, pantheism disguised as environmental stewardship, atheism disguised as science, and much, much more.
All of this has created a culture wara civil war. School boards are war zones. And it's only going to get worse. And that's why we stand up and say to Pharaoh, "Let our children go." And let our wallets go as well.
Instead, let parents, churches, and Christian organizations take those very same funds and train children, regardless of race, gender, class, or creed, in the training and discipline of the Lord. This is a mission-field that's white and ready for harvest.
IMAGINE
Imagine there's no public school,
It's easy if you try,
No compulsory attendance,
Earth Day would never fly.
Imagine all the teachers,
Working for the Lord
Imagine there's no school union,
It isn't hard to do,
No one to promote humanism,
No condom distribution too.
Imagine all the children,
Living for the Lord
Imagine no property tax,
I wonder if you can,
No need for school levies,
No need to elect our man,
Imagine all the teachers,
Sharing Christ the Lord...
You may say I'm a dreamer,
but wouldn't it be nice.
I hope some day you'll join us,
And our kids will live for Christ.
