The Resolution Says...
Whereas, teaching our children everything that Jesus commanded involves their learning to think biblically about all the spheres of human thought, activity, and life (Dt. 6:4-9)...
Analysis
2,000 years ago, Jesus the Son of God said that the whole Law could be summed up in two commands. The first of these commands was to love God with every part of our being.
Deuteronomy 6:4-9 was written long before there was any such thing as public schools. This passage explains how a Godly parent could insure that their children would learn to love God.
- God's word was to be written on their heart.
- God's word was to be taught diligently to sons.
- God's word was to be the topic of regular discussion in the home.
- God's word was to be discussed when traveling anywhere.
- God's word was to be reviewed when bedding-down for the day.
- God's word was to also to be the topic with which a family started the day.
- As if that was not enough, God's word was to be conspicuously displayed on the parent's heads and hands for their children to see.
- And when the child returned home, he was to see God's word on the gate and doorposts of the family residence.
In other words, God's word was supposed to be a central part of every child's day. He was to see it everywhere and all day. He shouldn't have been able to avoid it!
It is clear that God is not welcome in our government funded and managed schools.
